KUTNIA fabric has a unique and illustrious ancestry: Kutnu a traditional fabric first created for the opulent Ottoman Court in the 16th century. Recognizable by its luxurious sheen and vibrant colors, Kuntu was originally made with silk warp and cotton weft, giving this fabric its distinctive look and feel.
Practiced for generations, the complex craft of handweaving kutnu had almost died out but was saved and revived by KUTNIA. Blending traditional handcrafting with modern techniques, they craft a new, heritage-infused Kutnu fabric.
